Internship Program
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has officially inaugurated the second phase of the Chief Ministerโs Internship Program, marking a significant step forward in empowering youth and strengthening the provinceโs agriculture sector. The initiative is designed to create employment opportunities for young graduates while simultaneously modernizing agricultural practices in the region.
As part of the new phase, 2,000 agriculture graduates will be selected to participate in the program. Each selected intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, a substantial financial incentive aimed at encouraging youth to actively contribute to the agricultural economy.
The program is open to students currently pursuing BSc Agriculture and BSc (Hons) Agricultural Engineering, providing them with real-world experience and professional exposure.
To ensure transparency and equitable access, the provincial government has implemented district-wise quotas, ensuring fair representation across all regions of Punjab.
Applications can be submitted directly to the office of the deputy director of agriculture in each applicantโs home district. Additionally, an agriculture helpline has been activated to assist candidates with queries regarding eligibility, documentation, and the application process.
In her official statement, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that this internship program serves as a โbridge between modern agricultural practices and youth empowerment.โ She noted that equipping young graduates with field experience is essential for the sustainable development of Punjabโs agriculture sector.
Maryam Nawaz also lauded the continued success of the Kisan Card Program, calling it a โlandmark achievementโ in improving financial inclusion for farmers.
Alongside the internship initiative, the Punjab government is simultaneously rolling out other pro-farmer schemes such as the Green Tractor Scheme and the Tube Well Solarization Program, aimed at reducing input costs and improving productivity.
In a bid to revolutionize service delivery for farmers, the Chief Minister also announced the upcoming launch of Model Agriculture Malls. These modernized centers will serve as one-stop hubs offering access to essential farming tools, government schemes, technical guidance, and digital services under one roof.
With these multifaceted initiatives, the Punjab government under Maryam Nawaz is setting a new benchmark in integrating youth employment with agricultural innovation, making strides toward a more sustainable and economically vibrant rural Punjab.
