ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain across Punjab, including Lahore, beginning on February 19. A weather system is expected to enter the region on February 18, bringing showers to Lahore and surrounding areas.
Lahore, currently experiencing dry and cold weather, is expected to see rainfall on Wednesday, February 19. The minimum temperature in the city today was recorded at 10ยฐC, with a maximum of 24ยฐC expected.
Meanwhile, Karachi has seen a rise in temperatures, with a maximum of 33.2ยฐC yesterday. Weather experts have also warned of foggy conditions and limited visibility over the weekend, which could affect road traffic.
As the new weather system approaches, residents of Lahore and other parts of Punjab are bracing for cooler and wetter conditions. The Meteorological Department also reported rain and snowfall in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, with temperatures continuing to drop in several districts, including Chitral and Swat.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, rainfall was recorded in Chitral, Kohistan, Bajaur, Dir, and Swat, with snowfall reported in mountainous areas, especially in Kalam where 17 inches were recorded. The lowest temperatures in these areas reached -4ยฐC in Parachinar and -2ยฐC in Malam Jabba.
Authorities have advised residents in affected regions to take necessary precautions as rain and snowfall are expected to continue in the coming days.
