Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member and social media activist Sanam Javed has reportedly been abducted by unidentified men near Civil Officers Colony in Peshawar, according to local police reports.
An FIR has been lodged at the East Police Station against unknown individuals, and law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation into the case. Sanam Javed was reportedly traveling with her associate, Advocate Hira Babar, when the incident occurred.
According to the FIR, the two women were returning from a hotel after dinner when their car was intercepted by several unknown men. Hira Babar told the police that the men forcibly took Sanam Javed away. “Sanam had invited me for dinner. We were returning from the hotel when suddenly some individuals stopped our vehicle and forcefully took Sanam with them,” she said in her statement.
Hira further alleged that some security personnel were present in the vicinity but did not intervene or attempt to stop the abductors, instead remaining silent spectators.
In response to the incident, Peshawar police launched an extensive search operation in and around the Civil Officers Colony area. Checkpoints have been established, and additional personnel have been deployed to track down the suspects.
A police spokesperson confirmed that efforts are ongoing to trace the abductors and recover the missing PTI activist. Authorities have begun reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area in hopes of identifying the individuals involved.
Sanam Javed, known for her strong social media presence and political activism, has been a vocal supporter of PTI and its leadership. Her reported abduction has sparked concern among party members and human rights advocates, who have called for swift action to ensure her safe recovery and bring those responsible to justice.
