Fawad Chaudhry’s incarceration for allegedly pressuring poll authorities elicited a harsh reaction from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar.
In a statement, Mr. Azhar threatened the government with widespread protests if the whereabouts of the PTI stalwart were not revealed.
He further stated He will seek the court to get Mr. Chaudhry’s detention lifted.
He stated:
“Fawad Chaudhry was detained in a way as he is a terrorist.”

Umar Hameed, the secretary of the Election Commission, filed a police report (FIR) against Fawad Chaudhry for threatening the ECP and its participants.
According to the FIR:
Fawad threatened the Election Commission, its members, and their families in a speech he gave outside Imran Khan’s residence in Lahore.
Several PTI workers have gathered outside Imran Khan’s Zaman Park mansion, fearing his arrest in the aftermath of Fawad Chaudhary.
