ISLAMABAD: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting an expedited hearing of his sentence suspension plea in the £190 million case.
The petition, submitted by Barrister Salman Safdar, states that the case was originally set for a hearing on March 24.
However, the main defense lawyer was engaged in a Supreme Court murder trial, causing a delay. Due to a shortened cause list, the court rescheduled the hearing for after Eid.
The plea urges the court to hear the sentence suspension request alongside the main appeal before Eid. The federal government and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman have been named as respondents in the case.
