Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced on Friday that three companies have been granted Virtual Private Network (VPN) licences under the class category, ensuring uninterrupted service access for users.
According to a PTA spokesperson, the purpose of issuing these licences is to bring VPN usage under the regulatory framework and prevent service disruptions.
โObtaining the licence in a timely manner helps avoid suspension of services,โ the spokesperson said, adding that all VPN service providers currently operating without a valid licence must regularise their status immediately.
The PTA reiterated that licensed VPN users will continue to enjoy access to services without any obstacles, while unlicensed operations may face restrictions.
