The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the dates for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, 2025.
The announcement was made during the PSL roadshow in New York, marking the first time the league has held such an event in the United States. The auction for new franchise teams is set for January 8, following an extended deadline for bid submissions.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Faisalabad will host 11 matches in the upcoming season. He emphasized the board’s ongoing efforts to make PSL a global success and reiterated his vision of establishing the league as the world’s leading cricket competition. Naqvi also highlighted that investments in the PSL continue to yield strong returns, reflecting the league’s growing stature.
The New York roadshow aimed to attract international investors ahead of the auction of two new PSL teams. The event saw the participation of key players including Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Saud Shakeel, and Shan Masood. Former captains Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja were also present, alongside Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.
During the event, current players shared their experiences of participating in the PSL, while Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Saim Ayub highlighted the league’s importance for young cricketers.
Ramiz Raja emphasized the opportunity PSL provides for young talent to play alongside international stars, while Wasim Akram described it as a major source of entertainment for fans.
Officials also announced plans for the redevelopment of Karachi’s National Stadium, along with upgrades to stadiums in Muzaffarabad and Hyderabad, demonstrating the PCB’s commitment to enhancing cricket infrastructure across the country.
The New York roadshow follows a successful PSL roadshow in England, reflecting the league’s ambition to expand its international presence and attract global investment, ensuring continued growth and success.
