ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former legendary cricketers are taking part in the PSL London Road Show to promote the league and attract new investment.
Former captain Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Haris Rauf, Babar Azam, and Sahibzada Farhan are attending the mega sports event. Singer Ali Zafar will also perform at the event.
The roadshow aimed to highlight the commercial and sporting potential of the Pakistan Super League to an international audience. British investors show strong interest in the purchase of two new PSL teams.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board expects strong participation from prospective franchise owners at the Pakistan Super League’s London Roadshow, scheduled at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The showcase comes as the PSL prepares to expand with two new teams.
The PCB said the exclusive event at Lord’s will unite international investors, commercial partners and cricket enthusiasts. The board described Lord’s as one of the world’s most prestigious sporting venues and said the evening will highlight the PSL’s growth, commercial success and long-term direction.
According to the board, the HBL PSL has rapidly emerged as one of the most dynamic and commercially successful T20 leagues. Preparations for expansion have already attracted significant interest from potential ownership groups across the United Kingdom. This interest reflects the league’s rising global stature and its strengthening relationship with UK-based cricket stakeholders.
Moreover, the PCB said the London Roadshow will build on this momentum. The event will offer investors and fans an immersive introduction to the PSL’s commercial ecosystem and its vision for future development. Officials said the gathering will also present opportunities for deeper engagement with decision-makers.
The board expects a diverse audience, including business leaders, potential franchise owners and supporters eager to connect with one of cricket’s fastest-growing leagues. The initiative underscores the PSL’s focus on global expansion, strategic partnerships and world-class entertainment.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said hosting the roadshow at Lord’s demonstrates the league’s ambition. He said the PSL aims to elevate Pakistan cricket internationally and strengthen its global presence. Naqvi added that the UK market has shown tremendous interest in the proposed new teams, enhancing the league’s international appeal.
He said the event will help deepen global partnerships and communicate the PSL’s long-term plans for innovation and expansion. He expressed confidence that the showcase will attract investors and fans eager to explore new opportunities.
Meanwhile, PSL CEO Salman Naseer said the roadshow will give investors a closer look at the league’s future roadmap. He said the PSL has established itself as a world-class league with strong global support and significant commercial value. Hosting the event at Lord’s, he added, creates the ideal setting to discuss expansion through two new teams.
Naseer said foreign investor interest has been extremely encouraging. He noted that the PSL remains committed to creating a bigger, stronger and more globally connected league in the years ahead.
