On Monday, the royal couple Kate Middleton and Prince William recorded a video message for the hospital staff and wished them well on Burns Night, Scotland’s celebration of the poet, Robert Burns.
The couple posted the video on their Instagram as well as their Twitter account “Duke and Duchess of Cambridge”.
The caption on the post read, โThis #BurnsNight, weโve teamed up with @nhscharitiestogether to provide staff at @nhstayside with a Burns celebration lunch of haggis, neeps, and tatties.โ
William said. โWe know Burns Night is a special evening for Scots around the world โ a time to come together to eat, drink, and celebrate the life and work of Robert Burns.โ
โSadly this year is a little different. And for many of you working on the frontline, tonight will be a very different occasion, as you work tirelessly through this pandemic to protect the most vulnerable in our society.โ
Kate added.
They further thanked the frontline workers and said, โThank you for all that you do. Thank you to Tayside Health Fund and NHS Charities Together, and Royal Warrant Holders @valvonacrolla @fisheranddonaldson for their kind donations to NHS Tayside staff this Burns Night.”
Kate and William signed off with “Slร inte Mhath,” a toast to “good health” in Scottish Gaelic.
