Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday instructed the concerned authorities to uphold world-class standards, full transparency, and complete digitisation in the development of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Daanish University. The directives were issued during his visit to the project sites located in the institutional sector along Srinagar Highway, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing work.
Officials informed the prime minister that 600 kanals of land had been allocated for the Jinnah Medical Complex, while 800 kanals had been set aside for the construction of Daanish University. They added that water-supply infrastructure for the area was expected to be completed within two months and that the PC-1 for the projects had been finalised in consultation with relevant experts.
Emphasising quality, PM Shehbaz stated that only reputable and credible companies should be shortlisted for bidding, ensuring that the construction and future operations meet the highest standards.
To reinforce transparency, he ordered that all payments related to the projects be processed through a third party. He also directed that individuals affected by the developments receive their due rights promptly and without any bureaucratic delay.
The prime minister instructed the Ministers for Power and Energy to personally monitor the pace and quality of work, ensuring there were no interruptions in required services.
Stressing the adoption of modern practices, he reiterated that all operations, management systems, and auxiliary components should be fully digitised and paperless, aligning the institutions with global benchmarks.
Additionally, PM Shehbaz highlighted the importance of extensive horticulture and landscaping to enhance the environment of the new facilities. He firmly stated that political considerations must not be allowed to influence any aspect of the projects, insisting that all decisions be guided by merit, fairness, and integrity to deliver institutions that reflect excellence and serve the public effectively.
