ISLAMABAD: The newly built bikers’ lane on Ferozepur Road has created significant traffic problems after the paint, costing over Rs. 11 crore, washed away in the rain due to poor quality.
Several sections of the lane have faded, raising questions about the materials used in the project. Despite these issues, the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) has yet to address the disruptions caused by the bikers’ lane.
The lane lacks a proper drainage system, leading to water accumulation, and no alternative plans have been made for buses at the stops, contributing to daily traffic jams.
In response to the deteriorating paint, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General has initiated an inquiry and instructed the Chief Engineer to investigate the matter. Reports suggest that the company responsible for the lane’s paint will not receive payment for the project and will be excluded from future assignments.
