Special Assistant to Prime Minister Dr Sania has announced that scholarships for secondary students and ‘Ehsaas Saving Wallets’ project.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Dr Sania Nishtar extended her talk to media that government is very conscious for the youth of this nation and bringing up productive projects to help out. This time first ever ‘Ehsaas Saving Wallets’ project would play a vital role in eliminating poverty and to empower women economically. She said that government extends scholarships to the deserving students as well.

Moreover, she quoted that Ehsaas saving wallets will prove to be an important milestone for the economic empowerment of the marginalised segments of the society. Dr Sania said the government is making serious efforts to uplift the marginalised segments of the society. “Financial freedom is an effective way to provide opportunity to the poor segments of the society and include them in the process of development,” she added.

The social safety net will be further expanded and one window facility will be opened at the Tehsil level to integrate all Ehsaas programs under one roof, she maintained. She said the programme has been framed in accordance with the best international practices which would be fully transparent and conducted on merit basis.

A day ago, Dr Sania had said that scholarships will be given to deserving students of secondary schools under the Ehsaas Graduate Programme from July 1. She added that currently scholarships are being given up to the primary level under the Ehsass programme.

Dr Sania said that after the completion of a survey in this regard, desks would be set up at the tehsil level where deserving students will get themselves registered to avail the scholarships. She added that the prime minister will inaugurate the “Ehsass One Window” in two weeks.

SAPM further stated that another survey for Ehsaas Kifalat Programme has been completed 88 per cent while a summary has been sent to the ministry concerned, seeking funds to cover maximum deserving families.
