Conflict
LAHORE: PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat advised former coalition partners, PPP and PML-N, to avoid conflict for the country’s sake.
During a meeting with former president Asif Ali Zardari, they discussed Pakistan’s current political and economic situation. Shujaat, who was part of the previous coalition government, expressed concerns about ongoing political tensions between the major parties.

In response, Zardari stated that his party had not engaged in such behavior. He emphasized that they were speaking in line with the Constitution and ground realities, aiming to avoid confrontation. Shujaat stressed the need for a more cooperative approach.
He also expressed his intention to discuss the importance of reducing political hostilities with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
Notably, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari recently accused certain elements, including former ISI chief General Ahmad Shuja Pasha, former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, and a political party, of manipulating the 2013 Punjab election and lamented the lack of a level-playing field.
Furthermore, this led to a verbal exchange between leaders of the coalition parties, which had recently governed the country together after the ousting of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s government through a no-confidence motion. Responding to Bilawal’s call for a level playing field, former Defense Minister Khawaja Asif questioned the feasibility of establishing such a field if it wasn’t already prepared.
The political clash between the two parties has heightened the already tense political atmosphere in Pakistan, especially as the country approaches the general elections scheduled for January next year.
