In a significant turn of events, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry faced exclusion from the upcoming election race, following the awarding of a ticket to Malik Nawab Sher Waseer from NA-96 Jaranwala. The decision dealt a blow to Chaudhry, who had secured a seat in the National Assembly from the same constituency in the 2013 elections. Legal challenges in Faisalabad, including a disqualification in a contempt of court case, contributed to Chaudhry’s electoral setbacks.

Characterizing the PHC’s decision as a setback for the legal system and a victory for those challenging the law, Sanaullah expressed concerns about the negative implications and described the verdict as a morale boost for rioters following the events of May 9.
