Punjab chief minister condemns Shahbaz Gill’s statement, asks Imran Khan to disown this narrative

Before appearing in the court, Gill told journalists that he is not “ashamed” of his statements. On Wednesday morning, a court in Islamabad gave a two-day physical remand of Shahbaz Gill to the federal capital police to probe his involvement in treason case.

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Punjab chief minister Chaudhary Pervez Elahi has strongly condemned the statement of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill against army and advised PTI chairman Imran Khan to disown the narrative.

Speaking in a current affairs TV programme, Pervez Elahi, an important ally of PTI, said that Khan’s directives are loud and clear _ a person who speaks against the army is not a Pakistani.

He said, “Tehreek-e-Insaf’s leadership should distance itself from Shahbaz Gill’s statement/narrative and I myself have issued a statement against it.”

He said that Gill was not in a position to dictate to his narrative to PTI.
