LAHORE/ ISLAMABAD: After Imran Khan’s protective bail was revoked in a case involving a protest outside the Pakistan Election Commission office (ECP), hundreds of PTI supporters gathered outside his Zaman Park mansion to prevent the arrest of PTI chairman.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) rejected Khan’s request for an extension to his interim release for not appearing in a protest case outside the ECP following his disqualification in the Toshakhana case two days prior.

Khan’s request for protective bail was denied by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday. Subsequently, PTI members—including women and children—started gathering at Zaman Park to resist any attempts by the police to detain their party leader.

PTI workers were already camping outside the house of former premier Imran Khan at Zaman Park for several days. Khan has been staying there after getting injured in an assassination attempt in Wazirabad.

Furthermore, the workers were continuously chanting slogans against the police and government.

According to PTI leader Musarrat Jamshaid Cheema, the entire nation will gather on the streets if the government tried to apprehend the PTI leader. She added that women were holding sticks and clubs for their protection while sitting outside the Khan’s house. Moreover, all of those women belong to respected families.

She further added that they would begin a “Jail Bharo” campaign and, it would not be easy to apprehend Khan.

Former Governor Punjab Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Zaheer Abbas Khokar, Abad Farooq, and Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan Azam Niazi gathered at Zaman Park. Former federal minister Hammad Azhar and hundreds of PTI workers also gathered outside the former premier’s house.

PTI’s social media focal person Azhar Mashwani said, “thousands of PTI workers were permanently staying outside Imran Khan’s house to thwart any arrest attempt.
