Lahore Press Conference
Akhtar Iqbal Dar, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati (PTI-N), has alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) fabricated tickets for his party’s candidates.
During a significant press conference at Lahore Press Club on Saturday, Dar claimed that PTI issued false tickets and emphasized that he personally issued PTI-N tickets with photographic evidence alongside their candidates. He expressed bewilderment about how PTI obtained their party’s tickets.
Dar established PTI-N after accusing PTI of engaging in corruption and favoring electables politics. In response to queries, he asserted that it is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take action against PTI for the alleged forgery.
The PTI-N leader denied entering into any agreement with PTI regarding the issuance of his party’s tickets to candidates from the former ruling party. It’s noteworthy that PTI allocated tickets to its candidates under the PTI-N name while facing a legal battle for its symbol in the Supreme Court.
However, the ECP responded by instructing returning officers to reject applications from candidates who were members of one party while seeking the election symbol of another. Subsequently, PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen filed a petition with the ECP, seeking approval for the PTI-N certificates.
PTI Launches ‘Plan B’ With PTI-N For Robust Electoral Strategy
Meanwhile, in preparation for the upcoming elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) unveiled its strategic Plan ‘B’ on Saturday. This initiative involves fielding candidates under the newly introduced banner of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Nazriati (PTI-N), as a contingency measure to ensure representation in case primary ticket candidates encounter difficulties.
As part of Plan ‘B’, PTI has directed candidates to submit tickets using both the standard PTI banner and the additional PTI-N banner. The party has chosen the officially registered PTI-N as its supplementary entity for this unique electoral approach.
Insiders disclosed that PTI has already issued party tickets to two candidates for both the National and Provincial Assembly elections. One ticket is issued in the name of PTI, while the other carries the designation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology. The chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf Ideology is identified as Akhtar Iqbal Dar.
