LAHORE: Leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sher Afzal Marwat Khan and Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, have resolved their differences after the former leveled accusations against the party’s former chairman.
This development followed a show-cause notice issued by PTI to Sher Afzal Marwat, prompting him to apologize within two days for his claims against Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. The notice warned of potential disciplinary action in the absence of a satisfactory response, stating, “A tense situation has arisen due to your statement.”
In a previous statement to a private news channel, Marwat asserted that Barrister Gohar Khan was removed as PTI chairman due to “unsatisfactory” performance, citing incompetence and poor results. However, a video circulating on social media depicts the two leaders hugging, signaling the resolution of misunderstandings and rivalry.

In a separate announcement, PTI revealed plans to conduct intra-party elections on March 3. The nomination papers can be submitted on February 23 and 24, with scrutiny scheduled for February 25. Further decisions regarding the election schedule will be made on February 27, and polling is set for March 3.
The intra-party elections will take place at the central office and all four provincial secretariats, according to the party’s statement. PTI leader and lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat confirmed that the intra-party election would occur within 15 days.
