Chairman Imran Khan of the Pakistan People’s Party (PTI) called on party members and the general public to travel to Islamabad for the Azadi March on Sunday in order to achieve “true independence” for the country.

ISLAMABAD: Government officials said they would block Islamabad’s Red Zone by tonight in order to prevent any adverse incidents from the PTI’s Azadi March, which is scheduled for May 25th, according to well-placed sources Monday

The Red Zone, save for Margalla Road, will be totally shut tonight, according to individuals familiar with the situation.

All roads leading to Red Zone save Margalla Road would be shut tonight, according to government sources with knowledge of the protest strategy.

The Red Zone’s entry and departure locations would be marked with shipping containers, according to the plan.

To be clear, the D-Chowk in Islamabad had already been shut off with the placement of large, heavy containers before the protest.
