PPP to observe 15th death anniversary today

ISLAMABAD: The leaders, activists, and supporters of Pakistan Peoples Party are observing the 15th death anniversary of their favourite leader Benazir Bhutto today. Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in Rawalpindi during a public rally on Dec 27, 2007.

A public rally will be held in Larkana today to pay homage to the former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

On this occasion, foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has issued a video message, urging the masses to attend the 15th death anniversary rally in Larkana.

Bilawal also urged PPP leaders and supporters to hold rallies and seminars in different cities to pay tribute to late PPP leader and former Premier Benazir Bhutto.

Bilawal Bhutto had already reached Larkana to lead the rally and pay homage to his mother.

“We draw inspiration from her heroic struggle against dictatorship and extremism,” he said in a video message.

“Shaheed Benazir Bhutto taught us to serve the people, to strive for a Pakistan for all, not just a privileged few.”

Meanwhile, PPP co-chairman and forme president Asif Ali Zardari said the institutions to stay neutral was an outcome of efforts and dream of Benazir Bhutto.

He said that neutral role of institution will strengthen democracy and establish credibility for the country.

Zardari said, “Benazir Bhutto was a symbol of bravery, endurance, and patience.”

“We are strong and steadfast on her ideology because of her teachings,” he said.
