ISLAMABAD: After completing two-day visit of Egypt, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif rushed to London from Cairo to hold decisive consultation with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif about the appointment of new army chief and the future political scenario in Pakistan.
Political situation has turned extremely ugly after attack on Imran Khan and the ongoing protests of the PTI throughout the country.
Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said her pre-dawn tweet today that PM Shehbaz Sharif, after attending COP27, left for London on a private visit.
She, nonetheless, shared no further information about this sudden visit of PM Shehbaz to London.
Political analysts, however, believe that some crucial decisions are expected in the next 24 hours in the wake of a Nawaz-Shehbaz meeting in London.
According to sources, the premier will discuss the prevailing situation with Nawaz Sharif, PTI’s long march, appointment of new army chief, new elections or Governor Rule in KP and Punjab provinces.
Two days ago, PM Shehbaz went to Egypt to attend 2-day COP27, from where he straight went to London instead of returning to Pakistan.
According to sources, PM’s London visit appears pre-planned because Shehbaz Sharif went to London from Egypt to meet his elder brother and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to find a way out of the current political crisis.
