Pervez Elahi seeks many seats from PTI in next elections, talks about alliance not merger

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab and PML-Q leader Chaudhary Pervez Elahi has demanded many seats from the PTI chairman through seat adjustments in the next general elections.

According to sources, Pervez Elahi has demanded seat adjustments between PML-Q and PTI and not merger of his party with Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf of Imran Khan.

In a recent meeting with PTI chairman, Pervez Elahi also demanded a written agreement between the two parties for seat adjustments in the coming elections, Samaa TV reported today.

PML-Q leader and Chief Minister Chaudhry has demanded seat adjustments in Gujrat, Chakwal, and Gujranwala divisions from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the next general elections.

According to sources, PTI leaders have strongly opposed the massive seat adjustments demand of Pervez Elahi.

It is believed that the PTI chairman will take up the issue with the party leaders to make a decision on this matter.

Worth noting is that before the dissolution of Punjab Assembly, Imran Khan floated the idea of merger of PML-Q with the PTI.

However, PML-Q supremo Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has suspended the party membership of Chaudhary Pervez Elahi amid reports of possible merger of PML-Q with the PTI.

So far, the PML-Q leaders are not interested in merger with PTI and they are seeking an alliance based only on seat adjustments in the next general elections in the country.
