ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) today submitted in the Islamabad High Court the official record of former prime minister Imran Khan’s speech at F9 park.
Chairman of the PTI had threatened to take action against the IG of Islamabad police, Deputy IG and a female judge Zeba Chaudhry of the lower court who had approved physical remand of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill’s.
Subsequently, the IHC summoned Imran Khan in a court of contempt case for the alleged threats and ordered PEMRA to submit the record of Khan’s speech.
The DVD and transcript of the F9 speech were submitted in the IHC by Director General Monitoring PEMRA Ashfaq Jumani.
Islamabad High Court has summoned Imran Khan on Aug 31 in the contempt of court case. The IHC has constituted a five-member larger bench to hear this case.
The larger bench will be headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah and it includes Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Justice Babar Sattar and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman was issued notices by the IHC to appear before the court on August 31. A three-member bench was formed at first to hear the case which requested IHC chief justice to constitute larger bench for this case.
