Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML–N) leader and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to launch his election campaign with a rally in Hafizabad on Thursday. Accompanied by his daughter and PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Sharif will participate in the election rally supporting Saira Afzal Tarar in NA-67.
This marks Sharif’s return to active politics after a four-year self-imposed exile, following his return to Pakistan on October 21, 2023. The upcoming rally is expected to be the first of 15 that Sharif plans to address during the election campaign.
On Monday, Maryam Nawaz officially launched PML-N’s election campaign in Okara, expressing confidence in Nawaz Sharif’s return to power for the fourth time. She predicted the resignation of those who oppressed Nawaz Sharif, emphasizing that the retribution goes beyond individuals to challenge the system of power itself.
Maryam Nawaz portrayed the reported fleeing of perpetrators, leaving their shoes behind, as a symbolic act of guilt. She attributed unfolding events to the court of nature, claiming that it has taken responsibility for the injustices suffered by both Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif.
