ISLAMABAD: Speaker of the National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has, once again, asked PTI MNAs to appear in-person for the verification of their resignations.
NA Speaker wrote another letter to the PTI and its MNAs, asking them to appear individually to complete the process of resignations.
Meanwhile, PTI chairman has summoned all MNAs of the party on Dec 28 in Islamabad to evolve a strategy to influence the NA Speaker to accept their resignations.
PTI, however, is not in favour of sending their lawmakers individually to NA Speaker for the verification purposes as party fears that many of its MNAs could change their mind.
Speaker @RPAPPP shall again invite PTI MNAs for verification of their resignation in pursuance of Paragraph(b)of Sub-Rule(2)of Rule 43 of Rules of Procedure & Conduct of Business in NA, 2007.

Earlier, NA Speaker invited the PTI MNAs to appear in-person, but they did not follow the order of the custodian of the parliament.
In-person verification is required under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in NA, 2007.
Therefore, NA Speaker wrote another letter to PTI MNAs on Dec 22, requesting them to be available one-by-one for verification of resignations.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif disclosed that PTI MNAs who have submitted resignations in April 2022, are receiving Rs 500 million worth (50 crore) incentives _ including pay and perks.
Interestingly, the PTI leaders are insisting for the acceptance of their MNAs resignation en bloc.
PTI Vice President Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated in the National Assembly that NA Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has ‘ignored’ his letter – sent him earlier this month to accept PTI MNAs resignations.
Earlier, from June 6-10, N Speaker invited lawmakers from the PTI in-person in his chamber, but none of them turned up.
Thus, this systematic tug of war is delaying the process to verify the resignations of PTI MNAs.
