Moulana Fazlur Rehman abandons allies after achieving his goals: SIC chief

ISLAMABAD: Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the Chairman of the Sunni Ittehad Council, launched a sharp critique of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, asserting his opposition to any alliance with him, as he believes Rehman discards his allies once his goals are met. Raza claims this tactic is unique to Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

During an appearance on ‘Rubaroo‘ on Aaj News on Tuesday, Raza pointed out the inconsistency in Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s actions, highlighting that despite previously stating that women’s leadership is forbidden, Rehman was part of a government that included respected female leaders in the Kashmir Committee.

“I oppose any alliance with Maulana Fazlur Rehman as he abandons his allies once he achieves his objectives,” Raza reiterated.

Additionally, Raza commented on Rehman’s involvement in the government, suggesting that the JUI chief is aiming for governorship with all his charisma.

Raza also accused Maulana Fazlur Rehman of fabricating false allegations against Imran Khan. He mentioned that while he has formed a temporary alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he refrains from meddling in PTI’s internal matters.

Regarding the issue of granting general amnesty to the Taliban, Raza disagreed with the PTI’s founder, arguing that negotiations should be conducted with anti-state elements.

During the program, Raza emphasized that those who love the country cannot endure a confrontation with the military. He criticized the Punjab government, accusing it of succumbing to fascism.

He supported Imran Khan’s decision to resign from the assembly, calling it the right move. Raza concluded by stating that the nation is frustrated with political decisions and hinted at a public backlash following the budget.
