LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court has granted a 10-day protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Alia Hamza in a cyber terrorism case, offering her temporary relief as investigations continue.
Justice Ali Baqar Najafi presided over the court session, during which Hamza’s husband filed a petition seeking information about the cases registered against her.
The federal government’s counsel informed the court that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had filed a case against Hamza under charges of cyber terrorism.
During the hearing, her lawyer argued that they had not been notified about the cybercrime charges and were kept uninformed about the specific cases filed in Punjab.
The court directed the investigative agencies to operate within legal limits and to disclose the charges against Hamza.
Speaking to the media outside the court, Alia Hamza stated that she has been under continuous legal scrutiny for the past 16 months. She emphasized that today’s women are stronger than ever, asserting that their ideologies and beliefs cannot be suppressed.
