ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a plan to allocate 400,000 rupees to each assembly member to cover petrol and vehicle expenses, while also introducing hidden camera monitoring at motorway interchanges to track participation.
This cash support is part of the PTI’s strategy to hold a powerful protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad on Friday (Oct 4).
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government convened to devise strategies for ensuring the success of the PTI protest at D-Chowk. Gandapur has tasked each assembly member with bringing 500 supporters to the rally.
Emphasizing the importance of reaching D-Chowk, the Chief Minister reiterated that the 400,000-rupee allowance is meant to facilitate the transportation of participants.
Gandapur expressed frustration over previous efforts, noting that some members returned from areas like Swabi or Burhan with only 50 or 100 supporters.
In a bid to improve accountability, Gandapur has decided to monitor participants’ movements using hidden cameras at motorway interchanges.
He complained that some members merely share photos on social media instead of fulfilling their responsibilities.
