JI not to form electoral alliance with PML-N and PPP

On Sunday, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq categorically dismissed the possibility of forming an alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Haq, speaking in Islamabad, criticized both parties, accusing them of causing harm to the country and asserting that his party would not allow anyone to undermine the public mandate in the upcoming general elections.

Emphasizing the importance of transparent elections, Haq declared that they would not accept the results if the electoral process was not fair to all political parties. He warned that without providing an equal playing field for all, running the next government might prove challenging.

Haq outlined the JI’s approach for the upcoming elections, stating that they would participate with a manifesto focused on peace, development, and prosperity. He pledged to address the issues in the education and health sectors by implementing emergency measures.

Earlier, on Friday, Haq expressed concerns about “political uncertainty” in the country during a convention in Lower Dir. He highlighted the need for timely elections as a solution to the country’s problems, warning that a delay could further complicate matters.

Haq criticized the PML-N, PPP, and PTI, holding them responsible for the country’s challenges. He also asserted that under JI rule, no Indian troops would have been allowed in Kashmir, rejecting the concept of remote control democracy.

Hamid Saeed Kazmi Joins Pakistan Peoples Party

Meanwhile, Former Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi officially joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday. The announcement of his affiliation came following a meeting with Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad.

Ahmad Saeed Kazmi, during the meeting, publicly declared his decision to align with the PPP. Other key PPP leaders, including Nayyer Bokhari, Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood, and Abdul Qadir Shaheen, were also present at the gathering.

Kazmi had previously served as the Minister for Religious Affairs under the PPP government from 2008 to 2010, having been elected on a party ticket from Rahim Yar Khan.
