TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan for its unwavering support during Iran’s recent conflict with Israel, calling the gesture unforgettable and a testament to the strong brotherhood between the two nations.
President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran. The two leaders discussed regional peace, bilateral ties, and the importance of unity among Muslim countries in the face of growing geopolitical challenges.
“The Pakistani Parliament was the first to pass a resolution in our support. Your government stood firm and spoke against Israeli aggression on every international platform. This sincerity will always be remembered,” Pezeshkian said, according to an official statement.
He strongly condemned the role of what he termed the “Zionist regime”, accusing it of deliberately attempting to sow discord among Muslim nations. “The only way forward is unity. A collective Muslim front is crucial to resist Zionist oppression,” he added.
Pakistan’s Role Hailed
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, currently on an official visit to Tehran, congratulated the Iranian leadership on what he called a “great victory” in the war, attributing it to the resilience of the Iranian people, strategic governance by President Pezeshkian, and guidance from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
“Your courage and leadership are a source of inspiration for the entire Muslim Ummah,” Naqvi said during the meeting. He reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Iran’s right to self-defense and denounced the Israeli strikes as unprovoked and illegal.
Naqvi also conveyed a personal message of goodwill from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields.
Call for Deeper Cooperation
President Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the current level of Pak-Iran engagement, emphasizing the need for greater diplomatic exchanges and practical collaboration.
“There are vast opportunities for joint progress across multiple sectors,” he noted.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Iranian Interior Minister Sikandar Momeni, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran.
