Marwat’s Expulsion
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur recently held a significant meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder at Adiala Jail.
The meeting lasted for approximately one and a half hours and primarily focused on political affairs and party-related matters. Sources indicate that the discussion also included various developmental projects in KP and strategies for the party’s future direction.
One of the key topics of discussion was the recent decision to expel senior PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat from the party. Gandapur reportedly urged the party founder to reconsider this decision, emphasizing Marwat’s role in PTI and his contributions.
This appeal highlights ongoing internal deliberations within PTI regarding its leadership and disciplinary actions.
Before entering the jail for his scheduled meeting, Gandapur had a brief interaction with several PTI leaders at Jail Gate No. 5.
He stepped out of his vehicle and held short discussions with prominent party figures, including Musaddiq Abbasi, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Taimur Jhagra, and Adil Bazai. He also met KP ministers Sohail Afridi and Samabaya Tahir, engaging in a brief exchange with them.
During his arrival, Gandapur also inquired from the jail staff whether the listed PTI leaders had the necessary permissions to meet the party founder. The jail authorities confirmed that their names had been submitted for approval, allowing them access for the meeting.
Following the conclusion of his meeting inside the prison, the KP Chief Minister departed from Adiala Jail. His visit was part of a broader effort to address internal party concerns and ensure coordination among PTI’s leadership.
In addition to Gandapur, several other PTI leaders arrived at Adiala Jail to meet the party founder. Among them were KP ministers Sohail Afridi and Mushtaq Ghani, along with Haleem Adil Sheikh and Brigadier (Retd.) Musaddiq Abbasi.
Female PTI leader Samabaya Tahir and former KP minister Taimur Jhagra also attended the meeting, while party leader Adil Bazai joined them.
The presence of multiple senior leaders at the jail underscores PTI’s ongoing internal discussions and efforts to navigate key political and organizational challenges.
The outcome of these meetings is expected to shape the party’s stance on various issues, including leadership decisions and future political strategies.
