“Deal or Dheal”: Imran Khan ends protests, wouldn’t object to new army chief appointment by govt while PM Shehbaz rushes to London

PM Shehbaz Sharif is expected to return to Islamabad in a couple of days and the future scenario of politics depends on the outcome of his meeting with Nawaz Sharif in London.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has suddenly rushed to London from Egypt this morning while PTI chairman Imran Khan has ended nationwide protests, excluding Islamabad.

PTI, however, continue its protests in and around Islamabad for an indefinite period.

Khan also gave up his earlier demand in which he repeatedly stated that the current government “comprising thieves” was not capable of appointing new army chief.

Now PTI chairman said that ‘they can appoint to whoever they want’ and he would not oppose the appointment.

PTI chairman stated this in his conversation with a selected group of journalists in Lahore on Tuesday.

Interestingly, PM Shehbaz’s sudden departure to London to hold crucial discussion with PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif has created speculations about announcement of some important decisions pertaining to new army chief appointment, PTI long march, and political crisis after attack on Imran Khan, etc.

Meanwhile, sudden change in the stance and tone of PTI chairman too indicate some positive developments on the political front in the country which may end the current imbroglio.

The PTI leaders said that Imran Khan has ended protests after receiving reports of inconvenience to masses due to blockade of roads, suspension of transport, and business activities.

However, PM Shehbaz Sharif is expected to return to Islamabad in a couple of days and the future scenario of politics depends on the outcome of his meeting with Nawaz Sharif in London.
