PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan sent a summary to Governor for the dissolution of provincial assembly late Tuesday night.
Before sending summary to Governor, KP chief minister chaired a ‘farewell’ meeting of the provincial cabinet in Peshawar.
KP CM Khan wrote a proper summary to Governor for the dissolution of assembly.
In the summary, Mahmood Khan said,
“I, Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in pursuance of provisions in Article 112(1) of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, do hereby forward my advice for dissolution of provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 17th January, 2023, at 2100 hours (9pm).”
KP Assembly, as per the Constitution, will dissolve within 48 hours after chief minister signed the summary and sent it to Governor.
Earlier, after chairing cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan said he would dissolve the provincial assembly.
He said that he would sign the summary for the dissolution of the KP assembly today afternoon and send it to the Governor KP.

KP chief minister said that his party would secure two-third majority in the KP elections.
Mahmood Khan said that he has dissolved the assembly to fulfill the announcement of PTI chief Imran Khan.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Punjab Assembly was dissolved 48 hours after chief minister sent an advice to Governor Punjab Baligh ur Rahman.
Punjab chief minister Chaudhary Pervez Elahi has also announced three names for the appointment of a caretaker chief minister _ Ahmed Nawaz Sakhera, Naseer Ahmed Khan and Nasir Saeed Khosa.
