Ch. Shujaat Hussain says “party and family are on same page” _ dispels rumours of rift

Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain said all decisions were made with his consultation, support, and the rumors about rifts within his family are misleading.

ISLAMABAD: PML(Q) leader Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has dispelled rumours about any rift in the party and his family over PTI’s offer of chief minister slot to Chaudhary Pervez Elahi.

In a statement issued today, Chaudhary Shujaat said that “his family and the party are on the same page.”

The news about difference between Shujaat Hussain and his cousin Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi emerged after Prime Minister Imran Khan named Elahi as Punjab chief minister candidate.

Moments after this announcement, PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema and Federal Minister for Housing and Works, resigned and vowed to go against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the upcoming no-confidence vote in the National Assembly.

Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain said all decisions were made with his consultation and support, and the rumors about rifts within his family are misleading.

Shujaat Hussain further said that although the number of young members in this assembly is more than in any previous assemblies, it is wrong to blame them or doubt their intentions.
