Azam Nazeer Tarar
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar expressed his thoughts on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to boycott the All-Parties Conference (APC), which was held to show solidarity with Palestine in light of ongoing Israeli atrocities.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Tarar emphasized the importance of the APC and the collective message it aimed to convey regarding the plight of the Palestinian people.
He remarked, “It would have been good if the PTI had attended the APC meeting. We had also invited the PTI to participate.” His comments suggest that the presence of all political parties was crucial for a united front on such a significant issue.
Tarar underscored that the APC was a demonstration of solidarity from the entirety of Pakistan, highlighting that nearly all political factions were represented at the gathering, with only two parties missing.
Tarar also revealed that the APC made a crucial decision to form a working group dedicated to advocating for Palestine. This working group is expected to travel to various countries, amplifying Pakistan’s voice on the international stage regarding the injustices faced by Palestinians.
“The working group will raise its voice for the sake of Palestine by visiting different countries,” he stated, indicating a proactive approach to diplomatic engagement.
Importantly, Tarar clarified that the APC was not convened for political posturing or maneuvering but rather to address the humanitarian issues stemming from the violence and atrocities occurring in Palestine.
He noted, “The APC was not summoned for any political reason; rather, its purpose was to discuss the matters pertaining to the atrocity and violence.” This statement highlights the conference’s focus on humanitarian concerns rather than political gain.
He further added that both the president and the prime minister had collaborated to organize the APC, reinforcing the idea that this gathering was a significant step in expressing national solidarity.
“Today marked history in terms of expressing solidarity with Palestine,” Tarar concluded, reflecting the gravity of the situation and the commitment of Pakistan’s political leadership to advocate for the rights of the Palestinian people.
This strong stance showcases Pakistan’s intent to remain engaged in global discussions surrounding the ongoing conflict and to support those who are suffering due to violence and oppression.
