The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the Punjab government and Attorney’s Office to submit a report at the next hearing regarding the case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aliya Hamza. On Tuesday, Justice Ali Baqir Najafi issued a written order prohibiting the transfer of Hamza from District Jail Gujranwala.
The order came during a hearing on a petition filed by her husband, Hamza Jameel. In his petition, Jameel argued that his wife faces numerous politically motivated charges and that she is consistently named in new cases every time she secures bail in existing ones.
In response, the court has requested details of all registered cases against Aliya Hamza. The petition also seeks protective bail to prevent her from being unjustly imprisoned.
The court’s intervention aims to provide legal protection for Aliya Hamza while ensuring transparency regarding the cases filed against her. The legal proceedings will continue as the court reviews the allegations and the validity of the charges.
