Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has convened its parliamentary party meeting for March 1 (Friday), chaired by party supremo Nawaz Sharif.
During the session, PML-N leaders will strategize regarding the election of the speaker, deputy speaker, and prime minister.
The parliamentary gathering is scheduled to commence at 9:00 am.
In a separate statement, Nawaz Sharif expressed his confidence in Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, endorsing him as the best candidate for the prime ministerial position.
Addressing the parliamentary meeting in Islamabad, Nawaz emphasized unity during challenging times, foreseeing a positive outlook for the country within two years.
He commended Shehbaz Sharif’s governance during his 16-month tenure, highlighting his efforts to navigate the country through difficult circumstances.
Taking a critical stance against political opponents, Nawaz attributed Pakistan’s current challenges to those who facilitated the rise of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Nawaz lamented missed opportunities for national progress, suggesting that under different leadership, Pakistan could have emerged as a prominent global player.
He questioned the accountability and actions of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, referencing past legal proceedings against him.
Reflecting on historical events, Nawaz recalled the disruptive impact of PTI protests in 2014, citing delays in diplomatic engagements, including a scheduled visit by the Chinese president.
Nawaz Sharif’s remarks underscore the PML-N’s stance and strategic direction as the party navigates Pakistan’s political landscape.
