The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather advisory predicting rain and thunderstorms, along with strong winds, across parts of upper Pakistan over the next 24 hours.
The forecast includes cloudy skies and rain with gusty winds in Islamabad and surrounding areas. Affected regions include Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum. Similar weather conditions are anticipated in numerous districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan.
In Punjab, areas including Muzaffargarh, Taunsa Sharif, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Khushab, Bhakkar, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and Jhang are expected to receive rain and strong winds. Rain is also predicted in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Narowal, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, and Sialkot.
The PMD has cautioned that some areas may experience heavy downpours and hailstorms, which could result in urban flooding and traffic delays.
In contrast, most districts of Sindh are likely to face extremely hot and dry conditions, with coastal regions potentially experiencing strong, dusty winds during the afternoon.
For Balochistan, the weather is expected to remain predominantly hot and dry. However, light rainfall may occur in select areas including Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Khuzdar, and Lasbela.
Residents are urged to take necessary precautions, particularly in regions forecasted to be impacted by strong winds or heavy rain.
