Meeting Follows Spike in Terrorist Activity
The high-level session comes amid an increase in militant incidents linked to terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan. Officials said the situation has raised concerns over regional stability and cross-border infiltration.

On Tuesday, a suicide attack in Islamabad killed 12 people and injured 36 others, intensifying fears about the resurgence of militancy in the capital.
Border Tensions with Afghanistan Escalate
Tensions have also risen along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in recent weeks, with security agencies on high alert to prevent further escalation.
The federal cabinet is set to okay measures to improve internal security, intelligence coordination, and counterterrorism operations. Meanwhile, the important matters related to the 27th amendment will also be considered in the cabinet meeting.
Earlier media reports indicated that the federal government has decided to incorporate more changes to the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill, sources confirmed on Wednesday.
Federal Cabinet and Senate Sessions Scheduled
An emergency meeting of the federal cabinet will be held today (Wednesday) to finalize the proposed changes. The Senate has also been summoned to meet at 5 p.m. this evening to review theย revised versionย of the bill, sources added.
The Wednesdayโs session of the National Assembly would witness intense debate and political maneuvering. The federal government, nevertheless, is keen for swift approval of the bill to pave the way for the establishment of the Federal Constitutional Court under the 27th Amendment.
