Wani Announces Immediate Training Camp
LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) ad hoc President Mohiuddin Wani formally assumed charge of his office and pledged swift action ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifying round. He stated that limited time remains before the crucial event; therefore, the federation must take urgent and decisive steps.
Speaking after taking charge, Wani confirmed that the national training camp will begin today or tomorrow. He emphasized that the federation cannot afford delays at this critical stage. Furthermore, he said he will meet players and officials to review preparations and make key decisions to strengthen the teamโs performance.
Wani stressed that restoring Pakistan hockeyโs competitive edge remains his immediate priority. He added that coordinated efforts and professional planning will guide the federationโs next steps.
PM Accepts Tariq Bugtiโs Resignation, Government Appoints Wani
Earlier, PHF Patron-in-Chief and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accepted the resignation of former PHF President Tariq Bugti. Following the decision, the government appointed Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani, Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, as the ad hoc president of the federation.
