ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has been informed that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has rescinded its notification mandating prior approval for defense analysts to appear on television programs.
During the hearing, the court remarked that if the petitioners are content with the revocation, the case could be dismissed.
Earlier, Justice Babar Sattar had temporarily suspended the notification that restricted retired military officials from participating in TV discussions without approval from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
With the notification now revoked, PEMRA has officially informed the court, and the petitions challenging the restriction have been closed.
