ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed plans to organize an exhibition match in Peshawar before the start of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, bringing top-tier cricket back to the city. The match, featuring star cricketers, will take place at the Arbab Niaz Stadium, which is currently undergoing renovations. PCB officials confirmed that the stadium will be ready in time for the event.
This move follows a similar successful event held in Quetta in 2023, as part of the PCB’s initiative to broaden the reach of professional cricket across Pakistan. The exhibition match format has proven effective in showcasing high-level cricket in cities outside the PSL’s regular venues.
Peshawar’s cricket fans will get the chance to see their favorite players in action at home. Details about the match’s date and participating cricketers will be announced by the PCB soon.
Renovations are being prioritized to ensure the stadium meets international standards for hosting the match. The exhibition event is expected to pave the way for future cricket events in the region.
