Thirty Players Placed in Category A as PCB Expands Contract List
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced central contracts for 157 players for the upcoming 2025–26 domestic cricket season, marking a significant expansion in the pool of contracted cricketers.
According to details released on Thursday, the PCB has categorized the players into three groups — 30 in Category A, 55 in Category B, and 51 in Category C.
This year’s list reflects the board’s effort to broaden opportunities and strengthen the domestic structure, ensuring greater financial stability and recognition for emerging and established players alike.
The PCB awarded 131 central contracts last year, meaning this season’s figure represents a notable increase of 26 players, highlighting the board’s focus on inclusivity and player development across all formats and regions.
Further details, including the financial structure of the contracts and the performance criteria for each category, are expected to be shared by the PCB soon.
