ISLAMABAD: Recent data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA) shows a significant 51.32% surge in car sales during the first half of the 2024-25 financial year. A total of 46,398 cars were sold, up from 30,662 units during the same period last year.
Brand Performance Breakdown:
- Honda Civic and City: Sales reached 6,404 units, a notable increase from 3,938 units last year.
- Toyota Corolla and Yaris: These models recorded an impressive 82.47% growth, with 9,633 units sold compared to 5,279 last year.
- Suzuki Swift: Sales climbed by 60.71%, rising from 2,230 units to 3,584 units.
- Suzuki Cultus: Sales saw a modest increase to 1,130 units from 1,062 units.
- Suzuki WagonR: In contrast, sales dropped to 1,159 units from 1,829 units last year.
- Suzuki Alto: Continued its strong performance with a 46.16% rise, selling 19,594 units compared to 13,405 previously.
- Suzuki Bolan: Experienced a remarkable surge in demand, with sales jumping to 3,013 units from 1,179 units last year.
While most models witnessed growth, the drop in Suzuki WagonR sales highlights the uneven performance across the market. Overall, the automobile industry shows strong recovery signs, driven by popular models and increased consumer demand.
The data shows a good sign for revival in the cars business and manufacturing in Pakistan.
