In the deciding fifth game, Irfan kept his composure to close out the match 11-6. The contest lasted 63 minutes and tested both players’ endurance, but Irfan’s determination proved decisive.
Quarterfinal Challenges Ahead
Both Pakistani players now face tough opponents in the quarterfinals. Noor Zaman is set to play Colombia’s Ronald Palomino, who shocked third seed Leandro Romiglio of Argentina in straight games.
Meanwhile, Ashab Irfan will clash with India’s Veer Chotrani, the fourth seed, who progressed with a 3-1 win over Viktor Byrtus of the Czech Republic.
These quarterfinal matchups promise to be highly competitive, with Pakistan’s young stars aiming to continue their breakthrough runs and strengthen the country’s legacy in squash.
