ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan unanimously adopted a forceful resolution condemning India’s alleged water aggression and false flag operations, declaring that any attempt by New Delhi to block Pakistan’s water supply would be deemed an open act of war.
The resolution, introduced during a session presided over by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, denounced India’s reported suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, labeling it a flagrant breach of international agreements and a provocative step tantamount to hostility.
Lawmakers also condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, firmly rejecting India’s attempts to associate the incident with Pakistan. The resolution described these accusations as part of a deliberate and hostile campaign by the Indian government to tarnish Pakistan’s global image.
“Pakistan unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms, and the targeting of innocent civilians is against our fundamental principles,” the resolution affirmed. It reiterated Pakistan’s stance as a long-standing victim of terrorism rather than a perpetrator.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that India had failed to provide any credible evidence linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack.
The resolution reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support for the Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right to self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), recognizing it as a legitimate and just cause.
It further condemned India’s alleged role in orchestrating terrorism and targeted killings within Pakistan and across the region.
In a firm warning, the Assembly declared that any Indian aggression would be met with a decisive response, referencing Pakistan’s military retaliation to the 2019 Balakot airstrike. “Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and will never compromise on national security,” the resolution concluded.
