ISLAMABAD: The possible holiday schedule for 2026 has surfaced in Pakistan. The first holiday of the year is expected on February 5 for Kashmir Day. Citizens will likely enjoy a three-day Eid-ul-Fitr break from March 21 to March 23. The country will observe Labour Day on May 1. Eid-ul-Azha holidays are expected from May 27 to May 29. Independence Day will fall on August 14 as a national holiday. Pakistanis may also observe a holiday on August 26 for Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Iqbal Day will be marked on November 9. December 25 will be a holiday for Quaid-e-Azam’s birth anniversary and Christmas. The Christian community will also receive a separate holiday on December 26.
UAE announces official public holidays for 2026
The UAE has announced its official public holidays for 2026 under Cabinet Resolution No. 27 of 2024. Many residents have already begun planning their annual leave around these holidays. The schedule includes seven official public holidays. Predicted dates for Islamic holidays are based on IACAD projections.
New Year will be observed on January 1. Residents can secure a four-day break by taking January 2 off. Eid Al Fitr is expected from March 20 to March 22. Taking leave from March 16 to March 19 can extend the break to seven days. Arafat Day is predicted on May 26, followed by Eid Al Adha from May 27 to May 29. Taking May 25 off can create a nine-day holiday. Islamic New Year falls on June 17. Booking June 18 and June 19 can form a five-day break. The Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is expected on August 25. Taking August 24 off can offer a four-day break. UAE National Day will be celebrated on December 2 and 3. Taking November 30, December 1, and December 4 can create a nine-day holiday.
