ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s rising squash star, Sohail Adnan, has made history by clinching the prestigious British Junior Open Under-13 Squash Championship 2025.
In a thrilling final, Adnan triumphed over Egypt’s top-seeded Moez Tamer Elmoghazy in a closely contested match, winning 3-2. The tournament, held in Birmingham, marks a monumental achievement for Pakistan, ending an 18-year wait for the British Open Under-13 title. Sohail Adnan becomes the fifth Pakistani to secure this coveted junior championship, a feat last accomplished by Nasir Iqbal in 2007.
Adnan’s remarkable victory underscores his extraordinary skill and reignites hope for the revival of squash in Pakistan, a nation once synonymous with legends of the sport.
Celebrating his achievement, the Pakistan Consulate in Birmingham shared its pride on its official X account: “Proud moment for Pakistan! We @PakInBirmingham were honoured to witness Sohail Adnan’s incredible victory at the U13 British Junior Open Squash Championship in Birmingham. Congratulations to the young champion!”
