DUBAI: Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher has brought international acclaim to the country by winning the prestigious ‘Excellence in Criminal Investigation’ award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards, held in Dubai. Currently serving at the Sargodha City Police Station, her recognition marks a major milestone for Pakistan’s law enforcement, especially the Punjab Police.
The award, presented at a high-profile ceremony hosted by Dubai Police and attended by law enforcement leaders from over 90 countries, honors her exceptional investigative skills and leadership in two high-profile murder cases in Punjab.
In one case, Khan led the investigation into the brutal murder of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi. Under her direction, the Sargodha Police apprehended the suspects within 72 hours — a swift resolution that drew praise from the public and high-ranking officials, including the Chief Minister of Punjab.
In another case, she successfully led the rapid arrest of suspects in the murder of a young man named Mohsin, bringing them to justice within just 24 hours. Both cases underscored her commitment to swift, transparent justice and showcased her professionalism in managing sensitive investigations.
Her work had already earned her commendation from the Punjab Police before being selected for this international accolade. Anum Khan was chosen from over 900 global nominations, a testament to the impact of her contributions to modern policing.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Anum Khan said,
