Pakistani man
STOCKHOLM/ISLAMABAD: On Monday in Sweden, a Pakistani man took swift action to prevent the desecration of the Holy Quran and was briefly apprehended.
Salwan Momika obtained another permission from the Swedish police to carry out the desecration of Quran. He wanted to do it in front of the Pakistani embassy in Stockholm.
However, as Momika began to enact his nasty plan in the presence of police, Shehzad Malik, a Swedish national of Pakistani origin, managed to breach the security and intervened.

Police promptly arrested Malik and removed him from the scene. Nonetheless Malik kept on saying that he wanted to halt Momika’s actions.
Malik expressed his distress over the incident. He highlighted his efforts to thwart the desecration and his subsequent unjust arrest by the police.
Police detained Shehzad Malik for an hour. They searched his personal belongings including clothes, shoes, and wallet.
Upon confirming his Swedish nationality, authorities requested Malik’s ID card, which was then photographed for records.
Afterward, the police released Malik and informed him that further communication would follow. In the event of his involvement in legal proceedings, Malik could potentially face penalties such as imprisonment or fines.
Malik is now urging the Swedish government to take decisive measures against planned desecrations of the Holy Quran.
This is not Momika’s initial attempt at such an act. He had previously carried out a similar action on June 28 in front of a mosque in Stockholm. He had also devised a plan for a desecration near the Swedish parliament earlier this month.
